Koi Fusion - Hillsboro

They were closed when we arrived. We drove quite a distance since the food is fantastic, but it was a mistake to do so. As others have mentioned, the service is very inconsistent.

Additionally, they frequently run out of half the menu, so don't get too attached to any particular dish – it might be available one day and completely gone the next. When it's good, it's great, but that’s only about 15% of the time, assuming you can even get it. How are they still in business? Koi has been declining since well before the global events that began two years ago, although I'm sure they'll use that as an excuse like everyone else. Honestly, it seems like the owner has simply given up. I've never seen a restaurant that used to be as good as Koi decline so drastically over the last four to five years. It's just disappointing. I used to come here four to five times a week! I truly wish for their success, but it feels like they’re not willing to do what it takes to improve. If they were even 80% as good as they used to be, I’d still want to visit as frequently as I did. Now, it hardly seems worth it – they might not even be open, and if they are, they may not serve you, or they might not have what you want. And even if they do have it, there's a good chance it won't be properly prepared. How does a place like this continue to stay open?

The prices have continued to rise significantly. While the food is delicious, the cost is outrageous. I've tried to visit for lunch three times in the past few weeks, only to find the restaurant closed each time. I can't help but wonder if it's closed for good.

The single employee working today was clearly unhappy to be there. Barely audible voice, had to ask him to repeat everything at least twice until I gave up trying to understand him. Out of almost everything. The store looks like this place is squatting in someone else’s building no art/signage, two shoddy tables, poor lighting. Total disappointment. I’m on my way home with this food and already have no desire to eat it.Edit I’m home. This food is terrible. Chewy, overcooked chicken. Bland but strange textured rice, the green sauce ??? is super pungent and overpowers everything in this rice bowl.

So sad. Literally. It just feels so sad in there. The music, the filthy windows, the empty dining room, the decor, even the food. ?They were out of napkins so we were given scratchy paper towels. Won't be going back to this location.It's so unfortunate because I loved their food carts. Maybe cut your losses in this location and go back to what you do so well, selling your delicious food out of a cart.Best of luck!
