Service: wonderful food: fantastic cozy atmosphere, comfort food and salad bar. Great specialties for lunch and dinner. We were on the road to the south and it is not far from the path of 35. Directly opposite Texas Through Time Museum. Unlimited salad bar is an option! Enchiladas are served with rice and beans as well as chips and salsa in front of the hand. The chicken fried steak was tender and the bread was perfectly crisp and golden. And the cakes. The cakes not only look wonderful, they taste just as good as they look. We chose a slice to go, but if we had a cake on the street, it definitely wouldn't have gone far before we could finish it. So glad we found this great little place. Can't wait to visit again!

Great place to eat in downtown Historic Hillsboro. Simple South American food! Sit your seat. My wife and I ate upstairs. We went to the stairs I saw no elevator, but my wife, 9 months pregnant, was able to get up and down easily enough. Eating was good and hit the place for the chicken steak. I enjoyed the Coleslaw the best, it was really good and my wife liked her sweet tea. She has a cup on her way. Servers, food runners, busboys ensured that we had everything and were supplied with refills, bread, etc. Customer service was good. You get your choice from 3 pages, I thought that was cool, more than the 1-2 pages you normally get and bread with butter comes with the meal. My wife and I both have the chicken steak. Our sites were Potatoes and Gravy, Coleslaw and Fried Okra. Simple and what I expected for American south dinner.

Great local cafe atmosphere. Wonderful home kitchen. Good size and very reasonable prices. Friendly service. Breakfast is my favorite, but lunch and dinner are also quite awesome!

I was on a day trip and was specifically searching for a non-chain restaurant to eat at. This place is located half a block north of the courthouse and met all of my criteria. The interior is pleasant and the food is delicious. They offer a nice salad bar with a variety of dressings. My server was very attentive, checking on me multiple times and even inquiring about dessert. The staff at the register were also very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant! Additionally, they have a small covered outdoor area with a fireplace, although it was not being used when I visited.

The food at this restaurant is amazing! The atmosphere is lively and the staff are friendly. If you're in downtown Hillsboro, TX, this is the place to go. We had a delicious meal of mesquite grilled chicken breast, 3 sides, and dinner rolls all for only $9.99. The salad bar and desserts were also fantastic, especially the chocolate pecan pie and chocolate meringue pie. This restaurant is a hidden gem and we're happy we decided to dine here.
