The variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and unique products is a must-see. Whenever we are in the area, we make sure to stop by and stock up for our holiday home. Plus, the delicious homemade dishes and baked goods are a treat that adds to the festive atmosphere!
I had a great time visiting this place and admiring all the tropical fruits and vegetables available for purchase. Additionally, there is a wide selection of souvenirs and crafts for sale.
I visited the market last Wednesday to try out their hot food offerings and I was not let down! I ordered a green papaya salad and some Massaman curry for less than $15. Both dishes were delicious.
My man and I went on a Saturday when the biggest selection on providers is there, and found several prepared vegan food choice in addition to a great selection of local products to fair trips. we ate Peruvian style vegan tofu tamales. other stalls had avocado summer rolls, noodles, vegan banana bread, cakes and biscuits, fresh juices, taro products and rasiereis. in any case worth a visit.
We frequented the market on market days- Wednesday and Saturday- as well as days between. On Market days we found nut butters, Thai rolls. vegan tapioca pudding, and smoothies that were not available on non-market days. All that plus ample fresh produce, we ate like royalty for our week in Hilo. Even on non-market days farmers sell produce so it is worth shopping here before going to grocery stores, even the natural foods stores, on non-market days.
