Lagerhead Tavern - Hilton Head Island

The staff are consistently friendly and professional. However, there weren't enough workers on duty, and even though the staff that were present worked diligently, there was still a wait for food and drinks. If our drinks had been served promptly, the wait for food might not have felt so long, as we were a group of six friends eager to enjoy our time together.

This was our first visit to Lagerhead, and it's quite popular, so I recommend making a reservation. Our dinner was delightful and flavorful. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with the fans spinning, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The blood orange margarita was fantastic! While the service could have been better, it was satisfactory overall. We understand that staff shortages and undertrained personnel are common issues, so we were patient. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit!

We gathered with a few friends for dinner, and while the food was enjoyable, the service left much to be desired. All our dishes were delicious and fresh, and the restaurant offers a great variety of alcoholic beverages. The location is also quite appealing. Unfortunately, our server seemed to be in a hurry to get us out as soon as we were seated. She rushed us to place our orders and even brought the check before we had a chance to enjoy dessert. Some of us weren’t even asked about our dessert choices, and we hesitated to mention it, fearing it would irritate her further. To top it off, she seemed frustrated when we weren’t ready with our credit card upon her return. It was surprising, especially since there were no other guests waiting for a table. I’m uncertain if I would choose to return.

Really enjoyed this Hilton Head gem tucked away on the course. The staff were kind and helpful and the food was impressive. The beer selection was full of local craft and the specials list changes frequently. I ordered the salmon BLT and it waswonderful. The macadamia mahi was also impressive and our kids enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Considering the ease at finding areservation here, don’t let that fool you, this place is quality with wonderful scenery.

Went as a group of 9 this evening. This is our 4th or 5th visit. Three people at our table ordered burgers all well done. 2 of the burgers were medium rare and mine was raw. Waitress came by the table and I showed her the burger. She asked if I wantedto send it back . My stomach was doing cartwheels as I had taken at least 3 bites before I realized it was raw. But guess what,they still charged as if they served what I ordered. Will I take another chance, I doubt it. Catherine O’Connor
