Land's End Tavern - Hilton Head Island

The previous owners had a charming restaurant with a well-suited menu. However, the new owners, The Salty Dog, have attempted to incorporate Mexican dishes, which simply doesn’t work. Last year, there was an invitation for patrons to reach out to the management with a promise that they would respond, but a year later, I’m still waiting. The food was mediocre, the decor didn’t align with a pirate theme, and the service was lacking. We won’t be returning. It seems the owners have little concern for improvement, and neither do we. New diners deserve a truly memorable experience.

We stumbled upon Lands End while at South Beach Marina during a bit of an awkward time between lunch and dinner. I ordered the Fried Flounder, and we shared an onion ring appetizer. Everything was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

We make an annual trip to Hilton Head, and The Lands End is a restaurant we always return to a couple of times during our stay. The food has consistently been excellent, and the atmosphere is delightful. We stumbled upon this gem by chance one year while exploring the area. After stopping in for a drink, we were so impressed that we came back the very next night for dinner. However, we were quite disappointed one November when we found it closed for the season. Each year, I eagerly anticipate our visits to The Lands End!

The food here was exceptional! The lush puppies were absolutely delicious—soft and subtly sweet. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Great service and I dig the ambience and decorations. Service was good, we were upstairs, that's about 15 steps. If you have problems with the stairs, be careful. I don't have any problems with stairs and prefer them to a lift. Food portions could have been a little more!!!! Overall I like this place, service was friendly and happy!
