Vine - Hilton Head Island

I made reservations a month in advance via Open Table and confirmed it yesterday. When we arrived at the restaurant we found it was closed. I mean really closed- no furniture, no nothing! Really disappointed in Vine and Open Table.

I will sadly be repeating what many others have said. We used to really like Vine, but we will not go there again. The poor server was left with no help as she attempted to be server and bartender and apparently everything else other than chef. Additionally, the gnocchi had to be returned because of its tasteless, paste like quality. The ravioli was cold inside. The filet was a very cheap cut of meat and overcooked. We got the wrong bottle of wine twice. What a disappointing fall from grace for this restaurant. I hope that the server gets some help soon. We will not go back, and we will warn others of our experience.

I went with my husband, sister, and brother in law. To say our experience was strange was an understatement. There was a new owner and waitress but the old waitress came in and walked around like she owned the place even though she was fired recently or so we were told. My brother in law ordered gnocchi which actually was still frozen. I ordered a filet which also came out just slightly warm. The new waitress kept apologizing for random things that were not even issues. It was just a strange dinner. I'd suggest trying a different place! I honestly felt bad for the new waitress.

Have been coming to Hilton Head for years and Vine was always a go to for a great meal. So disappointed this visit. First we ordered wine and they had no high end bottles so we were steered to a lesser quality wine. The mushroom tart was small, dry and had little flavor. Not he quality of years past. Then they were out of filet, and the duck we ordered was flambéed with moonshine. The duck was over done and skin not crisp. The rice served with the duck was gummy, the veg was over cooked and there was no sauce. Can't tell you how sad we were, for in years past, the duck was amazing!!!!! Then they were out of dessert! ALL dessert! Will not be returning! And for us, who have been coming for years, that is a sad statement!

I almost hesitate to post such a low starred review, but the experience my family had at this previously amazing restaurant was bizarre and sad. We have visited here for many years and always had amazing service as well as unique, creative and delicious food. Our last meal at this restaurant was lack luster in flavor, some of the dishes weren 't fully cooked and one of our party had a completely overcooked steak. Many of our party did not even get replacement utensils for their entree. Many entrees or drinks were severely delayed/poorly timed. Our waitress walked out of the restaurant when we were 60% of the way through the meal and we were cared for by what seemed to be the only person left in this flailing restaurant doing the best he could. I feel like we are witnessing the death of this formerly amazing restaurant.
