Three Moorhens - Hitchin

Beautiful Sunday dinner yesterday! I had the mushroom and stylton wellington, which is very, very rich, and a baptism of sweet and fry. there were several delicious sounding vegetarian options on the menu not only the usual lasagna/chilli offers! the desserts also looked beautiful, but we were too filled after the huge roasts to even consider one. the only part was asked to move outside before the conclusion of our drinks, as we had got a table that was apparently reserved. the employees were very sweet, and we were offered a free drink (which we rejected) so that it did not get us away from the return.

Old pub restaurant that we have visited for many years as a couple and with family. It's been fairly recently redecorated throughout but have still kept it looking original. It's owned by Greene King so has their beer, lager and cider selection which is fine. We stopped here on the way home from Stevenage as hadn't visited in a while and had a lovely lunchtime toasty and an IPA. Just don't let the boys clean your car, (not good, lol) better to just make a charitable donation.

We booked a table for 4 just prior to Christmas and we're very impressed as they were so short staffed due to coronavirus yet they still opened and didn't cancel any bookings. Everyones food was fabulous we had a Christmas menu . Yes we did have to wait a bit between courses due to staff shortage manager gave us a discount as a goodwill gesture which was really kind but really appreciate that they let us still come as it was a chance to meet up with friends we wouldn't be seeing over Christmas . The staff were excellent and the vibe was good food great . Highly recommend

Surprisingly good. Hadn't been to the moorhens for a few years and the food has definitely improved. The pies are great. Everything was hot and the portions were pretty big. Very good value too. Bar staff were friendly. Ended up staying far later than we planned!

Enjoyed my experience. Service was a little slow but everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. Would visit again definitely.Would recommend the hot chocolate
