Gasthof Krone - Hittisau

This is a small family hotel in the small village hittisau in the Austrian alps. it is located directly in the center of the village and for those without transport there is an efficient bus service, free travel passes when they hold more than three days and also access to the cable cars. the hotel has been modernized attractively, a good breakfast served and high-quality meals, although the service can be slow. the rooms vary from some have tvs only German channels, small bathroom and wc, but good bathroom. no room safe or refrigerator, although there is a lockable draw. no air conditioning that can sleep during hot weather. tee and cake are available to the tee in the lounge/library and there is a beautiful small garden area. the family is more than friendly and helpful.

Here in juli. dinner. excellent service, eating was excellent in terms of preparation, presentation and quality. definitiw is distinguished from the typical Austrian hotel/guesthouse kitchen. great ambiente. the pricing was somewhat exaggerated, which is a scandal. we had several meals...at various good quality farms in the bregenzerwald and the gasthof krone was 20 25% higher. difficult to justify. If that were not the case, we would not have hesitated to forgive five stars.

Ate here in July. Evening dinner. Excellent service, food was superb in terms of preparation, presentation and quality. Definitely stands out compared to the more typical Austrian Hotel/Gastehaus cuisine. Great ambiance. However the pricing was slightly excessive which is a shame. We had several meals at various good quality establishments across the Bregenzerwald and the Gasthof Krone was 20 - 25% higher. Difficult to justify. If it wasn't for this we would have no hesitation in awarding five stars.
