The service is fantastic; the portions are enormous and are so reasonably priced. It irks me to have to pay for rice separately ...NOT at Taj Palace! Rice is included in the price of a curry. The owner, Harry and his lovely, hard-working wife, are an absolute delight. I am addicted to a Taj Palace curry and order on DoorDash, Menulog and UberEats at least once a week. My friends and family (many in the airline industry) have been introduced to this gem of Hobart and are ardent fans. It doesn't surprise me when I bump into restauranteurs, Australian cricketers and the odd Bollywood icon dining there. Thank you Taj Palace.
We visited this place on one of our friend's recommendation. We loved the food here, the ambience was great in the restaurant. This is the only restaurant that satisfied our taste buds and fulfilled our cravings. The customer service could have been better but the food made us overlook on it !!
The welcome was a cursory, and we waited a while before our order was taken, then another while for the food... but then!!! Whammo! Taste sensation! Samoras, pakoras, onion bahjee, followed by THE BEST tandoori lamb chops and beef ghosht I have ever eaten! And big helpings! I still have two meals worth of the most delicious leftovers in containers in the fridge! Another place on the Soon to Revisit list!!!
We had dine in twice, The food was good, home like feeling, Chicken tikka masala and palak paneer was the best, veg. Biryani was bit oily. The place could attract more customers if the decor is bit changed to modern way and more presentable and the customees will be able to get goodambience along with delicious food. I would love to visit again and recommend to enjoy the excellent curries.
Curries are very delicious except the Naan bread. Prawn molee and murg methi is just finger licking tasty. Perfect amount of spices n flavours. The naan bread was just thick layer of flour dough and little bit stuff on top. Very dry and not tasty. Service is bit slack as they replaced the Kashmiri naan from my order but never informed me or asked and just replaced it with pizza naan. Will definitely order again but just the curries n biryani. Recommend Dishes: Chooza khas Hyderabadi Biryani Prawn Molee Murg Methi Malai. Note: I ordered through Menulog. May be naan breads are nicer if you dine in. Will check one day !!
