To start off, I'm from Jersey city and I live a few blocks over from a different cluck-u, owned by someone else. That being said, I go out of my way, at least once a week and have been for years, to come to this cluck-u. Mainly because I've never had undercooked or poor quality food from here. The chicken is almost always well done but still juicy and tender on the inside. And they're very generous with the sauce. Boneless wings are my usual. The cheese burgers are also very good. Also, For anyone looking for a good halal spot, this is it. If you ever happen to dine in or pick up your food, they have an open kitchen so you can see your food being made, and the place is always clean. Another reason for my gushing is because of the night staff! They're super cool and handle the weekend night crowd very well. Music is always on and like I said, they keep it clean and I've never had a messed up order. P.S. this is a 7 star review!
Hey everyone, I'm writing this for those of you who gave it a 1-star rating! Please be patient—if you're looking for great food, this is definitely the place to go or order from! Just remember, good food takes time, so if you're really hungry, place your order at least 20 minutes in advance. I love burgers, and whenever I come to Jersey, I always order one because they taste amazing!
Ordered 50 wings and a burger with my friends. Was ready in ten minutes. The guy who rang us up was nice to ask if we would need plates and if there were more people who were gonna eat besides just the 3 us in case we needed more napkins and things. The wings are a nice size. We ordered half chipotle and half honey hickory. Both were delicious.
I enjoy Cluck U; I used to visit the location on the west side of Jersey City when I was a kid, and this chain has maintained that same charm and fantastic hot wing sauce flavor. This particular restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly. I believe the food used to be slightly better (the chicken sandwich was a bit dry), but it still hits the spot when you're really hungry and craving hot wings. Keep in mind that the prices have always been a bit steep for what you get, so expect to spend around $10-15 per person. Overall, not bad.
