Stella Pizza Cafe - Hobsons Bay

Came here to eat with a friend and we had a pizza the was great and the service was good the place was full of people as always stellas is always busy everything is always beautiful I recommend this place for the family.

This place is the next best thing that came into Altona. It is always busy and I can see why. There's a variety of food options for all. Sometimes service is a bit slow, other than that it's been great.

The best pizza in pier st i love the soups and pasta and the atmosphere is awesome .i recommend stellas to everyone

Go to Stella's every week or two for pasta or pizza. Last night we ordered our normal family pizza for dine in, to be told that family pizzas are only for take away. Complaining allowed us to have our pizza one last time. Next time may order takeaway and then eat in. Need the beers.

The last time I reviewed Stella's Pizza Café in Pier Street Altona I referred to how disappointing it is that they do not seem to cater for Vegans & that the variety of Vegetarian Options was insufficient. Whilst we no longer were comfortable to take any family or friends to dine at the actual Café due to those prior unsatisfactory experiences, we did on occasion organise home delivery for just the family. [ The last two [2] meals ] :Since Stella's initial opening we have been loyal customers & no doubt like so many others we all have favourite dishes. One of mine has been the Spaghetti Matriciana. The last time I chose it was the worst serving I had ever had. Watery sauce with no substance or consistency that was totally void of flavour. The noodles texture was almost chewy and the bacon wasn't cooked through. The hot chilli was negligible. If I was to summarise the meal in one word that would be 'revolting'.Another favourite was the Chicken Schnitzel with Chips & Salad. Last time it was ordered the chips were soggy & undercooked. The overall serving size had shrunk whilst the price had now increased up to $22.50 - definitely not value for money.In addition to the severe decline in food quality there has been a regular increase in the prices. For example their Lunch Time Special over recent years has steadily increased from an accessible $6.00 to a current $9.00 with no significant changes being made to the servings sizes to justify the price rise.Summary: Traditionally at Stella's the quality and taste of the meals have been known to fluctuate depending upon whom the Chef was on any given day. The portions however were usually still pretty consistent and at the time the prices fairly low to make a quick, cheap lunch worth your while.However lately there have been to many sub-standard meals served and that, in conjunction with the ever increasing prices has finally put an end to this families 'love affair' with this local eatery.Thank you for reading this updated review, we hope that it has been helpful
