Cafe Madrid has a comfortable and cozy dining room. I’ve eaten at Cafe Madrid several times, the service is always great, food varies from good to great and they have a great selection of wines.
I would love to give you 5 stars but sadly I cannot. While I enjoyed my sangria and the bacon wrapped shrimp very much, my friend was served the salmon and the middle of it was raw. She requested it to be cooked more and when they returned her plate and she began eating again, she found it was still raw. The kitchen was about to cook it a THIRD time but at this point she didn't find the meal very appealing. She asked for the lasagna as a replacement. Because of the length of time it took with the raw salmon, she had to get her lasagna to go and the server never even apologized for the poorly prepared salmon or the delay, and they didn't comp her meal. She was VERY disappointed. As a kicker, they rushed my order out, I had ordered the lasagna, and I was never given my salad, nor was there any explanation to the oversight. Our waters were never refilled nor did they ask if I cared for another beverage. It's very sad that such a fine restaurant would deliver such bad service. I'm not sure that I'd feel inclined to recommend this restaurant to others or return myself.
A truly unique Spanish experience here, paella de españa, tapas, exquisite eating. tipp: ask for a lot of tapas and share! more beautiful place, 100% recommended!
I'm not sure if the restaurant was short-occupied (isn't everywhere these days? or their grußverfahren need some work, but our arrival was the only one in our evening. that was great. they were served rolling that were warm, hearty and yeasty. the olive oil was fruity, light and rich. the balsamico vinegar was rugged and sweet. the meat and cheese plate had a wonderful selection of jamon, chorizo and Manchego, all perfectly cut, artistically arranged. we ordered the paella before the time. my man was a little hesitant when he had the last time paella (in another condition it tasted burned. here it was fragrant, rich in tomato and a perfectly cooked variety of seafood. it looked beautiful and tasted wonderful. the waitress suggested the strawberries with green pfeffer grains and vinaigrette. it was served over vanilleeis and was divine. it tasted fresh and bright with the sweet fruit and sharpness of the pfeffer grains, perfectly balanced with the brownish vinegar and creamy egg.
