My husband and I went into to finally try this place out. He ordered the michelada tropical and I the michelada especial. As we were enjoying our drinks we were admiring the decor and set up. I am giving three stars because after looking around we choose not to have any food. The fans up top and decor were covered in thick dust. The bartender while making the drinks wore black gloves while he touched everything with the same pair on. When I say everything I mean the boxes, counter, went out and got beer from outside opened then stacked them, got ice, kitchen area then proceeded to touch fresh fruit and candy. Imagine you went to a facility where the nurse or doctor kept the same gloves they used to touch a wound with. Between that and the dust we decided we won't be returning.
We were in town and wanted to have lunch, and Las Micheladas was highly recommended. We had the Cevichelada and the Burrito De Birria with asada. The Cevichelada was served with ceviche in a bowl on top of a barrel mug of Michelada. My choice of beer is Negro Modelo for my micheladas. It was so good! For me, it was a meal in itself. The Burrito De Birria was huge and it was delicious!I was surprised that they have sushi on their menu. I will definitely try them next time.Service was great and it wasn't noisy at all. They have a nice outdoor parklet, but we opted to sit inside since it was still a little cool outside.
Their carnitas, only served on the weekend is a dynamite entree. If you order just the meat with tortillas, pico de gallo and salsa you get huge portion, good for another dinner at home.
Las Micheladas is a solid Mexican restaurant known for their namesake cocktail. But the better bargain is just a beer these doctored up beers are not worth the price. You'll see many of the micheladas ordered by many patrons, and if you are so inclined to order one, the basic selection will satisfy a craving; the more expansive options are expensive and are filled with just a bunch of fluff. Their birria is superb, but I personally come here for their cold bar menu. The tostada mixta and both the shrimp and fish cevice are exquisite. My kids love the sushi. It's the safe sushi with cooked fish/shrimp and some nice crunch to the rolls. Ambiance is pretty run of the mill, but I dig the music and open kitchen vibe. Service can be slow at times, but the place does get busy. The ONLY place in town to get your Mariscos craving fix!!!
