Had a brunch here his morn and it was top class... Really neat decor and amazing provenance on all ingredients including meat from their own beef farm... Eggs benedict with ham! Excellent and also a sausage and egg skillet on the table- this is the hungover choice... For me all day it's eggs benedict and its variants... The cakes and sweet treats looked yum. Badger and dodo Java being brewed up. Excellent staff, what can I say an important addition to the brunch scene and when the weather improves they have cool outdoor seating! If the weather ever improves... I dropped a star because when busy the owner gets really anxious and actually rushes people out the door! Literally standing next to me as I was trying to eat... if I need to take an extra 3-5 minutes I think I will take it...
So our group of 4 discovered the real hard way that downtown Cork restaurants and pubs really just aren't open on a Sunday. We wandered from place to place with no luck and finally found this cafe which had some patrons sitting outside tucking into breakfast. We were super hungry and while Irish breakfast wasn't an option on the menu, having been up for 2hrs, this place was open and serving and so we found us a table on the outside porch area since it was sunny and we could people watch. There was an option for a build your own breakfast and I asked the server to approximate an Irish breakfast with awesome results! The breakfast which arrived on my plate consisted of: Two lovely poached eggs, these had deep yellow yolks and tasted so good 1 crunchy toast, split into two 2 sausages which weren't too my taste that much 2 lovely pieces of thick ham, delicious and perfect, not too salty at all half a fried tomato amazing medley of fried wild mushrooms, absolutely the best! I also got a glass of freshly squeezed Orange juice to accompany my breakfast. Everything tasted really good and really fresh. All members of my group were happy with their food choices. I would recommend this place and come here again when visiting Cork. Note: #264 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016
We went with a friend there for s Sunday brunch. We were really lucky because it was sunny and warm enough that we could sit on the terrace. I ordered some florentine eggs with a cappuccino and my friend ordered an orange juice with Royal eggs and some side bacon and sausage) it was really good and fulfill BUT it was really long to be serve which was a bit sad. We waited more 20 minutes to be served and it seemed like the waiters weren't really well organized. Anyway it was good food and we will go back for sure
