Family came here for Mother’s Day brunch. To my understanding, this was something new for them. Cost was $95.00 a person. Live “jazz” music was included. When I booked the reservation, I specifically asked the restaurant host, if there would be an omelette station, griddle station, etc. I was told there would be so I proceeded. Sadly, this was not true. There was sushi, scrambled eggs, potato’s, Mac and cheese, thin bagel crisps, salmon, lox, Cesar, kale, ferro salads, bacon, chicken sausage, fruit, little desserts, carrots, and prime rib I believe. The food was cold. I know this happens with buffet food, but for $95 a person, they should do better. Drinks were outrageously priced. Servers did not take away food plates in a timely manner, there was only one food station, so at one point, the line wrapped all the way around the interior of the restaurant. There was a time limit for the table which we knew about, but it seemed to us that we were asked to leave before we were done. Had there not been empty tables in the restaurant, I would have understood this. I also tipped our server 25% of our bill, which is significant considering we served ourselves.
Worst customer service EVER, especially at a steakhouse, and one that classifies themselves as upscale... this would have been our first time at BOA... we had reservations for 6:45pm on 2/20/22 and were sat down after a short wait. Our server; or the one we thought was our server eventually came over after about 5-minutes! Water and a piece of bread, not a basket but a piece of bread with no butter, came while we waited patiently. The server finally came over and asked if we'd like drinks and explained the 1/2 off bottle of wine on Sunday's special they had. She came back with a list and never returned for about 10 minutes. We decided on a bottle of wine and then another server (Charles) came by explaining that the restaurant was swamped and that they were behind in the kitchen. He (Charles) took our wine order but didn't come back until after 10+ minutes without the wine explain they couldn't find the key to wine cooler where the wine was stored (2017 Cakebread Chardonnay). We then asked about the menu, specials, sizes of steaks, what's good here etc.; something we expected from our first server who was too busy! She was way to busy catering to the high end clients in the private room near our table. The wine finally came 5 minutes later but we told him don't bother opening the wine as we have decided to leave. He totally understood and wanted to get the manager but we told him don't bother. Me and my family visited Boa for dinner on my birthday whilst on holiday in Los Angeles. It was the best steak I have ever eaten. Customer service was excellent and I even got a free dessert! It was an expensive experience but worth every penny compared to other restaurants when adding service charge, tax and gratuity. I would love to visit this restaurant again. They made me feel special!
What can I say…I absolutely love BOA, from the time we walked in we were greeted with friendly staff…Abby was excellent, she was so nice and on point…The whole staff treated us really well. It was our first time, so they treated us with a nice treat…I will be back soon…If I could give more starts I would…Thank you to all of the BOA staff for making our first time welcoming ..We were visiting from St Louis, MO
