We were probably the last round of individuals that got in prior to the restaurant closing. We shared the mushrooms and mozzarella sticks which were so delicious but heavy if you are ordering a pasta for dinner too I would recommend one of the two if you are a smaller party (less than 3 . Originally I was going to order the Papa D's Shrimp Scampi but when I saw that the ravioli was homemade I legit couldn't pass up on it. I got the Chicken and Ricotta with the rose sauce (I was told this is what they are known for. The dish was delicious the chicken was shredded and easy to eat and the cheese melted in perfectly the only thing I would have added is some more sauce as it got dry after a while. all in all a great taste of Italy!
Hats off to Sam who couldn't have made our dining experience here any better. From start to finish, he was so pleasant, helpful, and really made us feel like family. As Sam put it, everything here is pretty much customizable as far as pastas go. Not much to say that hasn't been said, but all of our pasta dishes were cooked to perfection and tastes and feels like it came out of a authentic and homey Italian kitchen. If it's your first time, I recommend the pink sauce. I enjoy it with fusilli and shrimp. Hubby loves the Alfredo here with shrimp scampi. Extra kudos for being family/kid friendly my kids enjoy the atmosphere and endless yummy bread!
When you don't leave the beach until after sunset 752, you may get stuck with a no reservation situation and all the kitchens say 45 minute wait at 845 and kitchen closes at 9:30!! Newport Beach, California Mama D's and team with owner Keith from Babylon NY provided us a good time and meal. His Mom from Salerno. Found Eno's Tiziano Chianti Reserva &ordered it. Communion wine said John and too warm. Classic pasta, very good calamari fritti. Christian E was attentive server.
It's a first for me I can't decide whether the food or the service was better. All I can say is that they were both outstanding and I will definitely be back! I came in with a friend on Thursday night. It was busy, but we were still seated right away. They brought out our complimentary bread right away, which was delicious. Our server, Hannah, provided us with excellent service. I was honestly amazed with the level of service we received. We ordered the linguini with pink sauce. The pink sauce is a must try, but I'm sure anything on their menu is great. The complimentary cookies that came with the bill were also a nice touch. You can't go wrong when you go to Mama D's.
We came here on a Saturday evening and given the amount of Yelpers mentioning to come as soon as it opens, we did just that. We put our names down on the list but you will only be seated when the whole party arrives. Within 30 minutes of opening, it was a packed house with tight indoor seating! Right when we sat down, the waiter provided us fresh warm focaccia for the table We ordered: Bo's Bruschetta (Toasted olive oil and garlic bread with pomidoro style tomatoes, basil and mozzarella : okay, could have been better Spencer's Stuffed Mushrooms (seasoned bread crumbs, fresh herbs and tiny mushroom pieces : SO flavorful Classic fusilli with their homemade pink sauce (I asked for them to make it spicy and they delivered! : this was SOO good and super creamy A great thing about Mama D's is that everything is customizable from the pasta type to the sauces. The service was great as well. Parking: in the back behind the restaurant (it's a bit tight or you can find street parking if your car is larger
