I’m giving one star for the food and service at Jozu. I paid $12 for a disappointing portion of the salmon pot shell. I initially ordered it with white rice, but had to settle for salad because they no longer serve white rice. The Ponzu dressing was overly bitter. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience! Perhaps their other dishes are better, but I suggest saving your money!

After placing our order, we waited about 13 minutes for our pizza to arrive. I appreciated the quick service, but the key question remained: was the pizza tasty? Have you ever had cheese that was oddly chewy, almost like having eggs in your mouth while eating a slice? The culprit here is two words: old cheese. Despite that, I took my first bite and was pleased to find the sauce nicely seasoned with oregano and the cheese fresh. It was a promising start! My only issue was that the thin crust was not crispy at all; with such a thin base, I expected it to be crunchy. Nonetheless, the staff provided great service, and we’d definitely be willing to try other items on the menu. Overall, it passed the simple pizza test!

The pizza here is fantastic, but I keep running into the same issue: they're closed whenever I try to visit. Their hours vary from day to day, and it's really confusing. I made a special trip on the 23rd with some friends for a quick bite, only to find them shut down. An employee informed me that they closed two hours early because of Christmas Eve the next day. It’s completely frustrating and doesn’t make any sense. Furthermore, the wood-fired oven is only used on days when they close at 3 p.m., which means that this beautiful oven is rarely utilized. They don’t seem to stick to the hours they have posted online. This is now the third time I've come here only to find them closed early for various reasons.
