Feedback gevenI will agree with the majority of reviewers -- a significant cut above the usual NL deep fried/deep fried/deep fried, in a very attractive setting with a very pleasant wait staff. Scallops were cooked perfectly, but served with a curious candied caramel sauce. (Ask for it on the side and ignore it). The salmon was a bit on the sweet side for our taste, but cooked perfectly, i.e medium rare toward rare. The fish cakes were potato-based -- essentially "fish knishes" -- but very tasty. A busy place, so make a reservation -- and make it early, because like many NL restaurants, the kitchen closes at 8pm.
We happened on this restaurant by chance while looking for a lunch spot. What a delight. Although we didn't have reservations, there were a couple of tables available and we were given our choice. The view over the water was lovely. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We both had fish dishes, both were excellent.I would recommend calling for reservations, as it filled up soon after we arrived, and that was lunchtime on a Wednesday.
We went to Woodstock as a special treat for my Mom on her birthday. I kept asking her throughout the meal how she was enjoying it.
During our vacation in Newfoundland, Canada, my husband and I were taken to Woodstock Inn for dinner by our friends.
We recently dined at Woodstock for the first time and had a wonderful experience! The service was prompt and our food arrived quickly.
