My husband ordered goat cheese toast to start which came out on wilted lettuce and had clearly been made a while earlier. He then had mussels which were overcooked and full of shell and I had white fish that tasted of nothing. For dessert we were both (!) served food that contained hair so we paid our bill (we were still charged for both courses even though we sent them back) and left.
We entered the pelemele in Rue du Dauphin as we thought it might be cheaper than eating at restaurants on the Bassin side. The room was empty so we were asked would we like to sit on the terrace. It was really funny as we were shown down a spiral staircase, through the kitchen and out to a table on the Bassin side. We just sat and laughed! We all chose crepes, mine being the Tartiflette which was disappointingly on the cool side. However, three of us ordered Salade Composee to accompany our crepes and they were excellent. The kir vin blanc ordered, whilst choosing our meals, was distinctly short on the blanc making the kir's too sweet, but the Rose wine was good.We had coffee to finish and the bill was €103,70.
Pretty siting: outside table overlooking a harbor ringed with similar outdoor cafes. This one less claustrophobic and the maitre d' was patient and helpful. Inexpensive fixed price menu, and we had entres of scallops and of fish in white sauce, both good for the price. Not fancy, but you are here for the view and the price is fair for the food and site. Yes, the toilet is up a winding staircase, which will help you walk off those calories you will pick up eating your gelato around the corner at Glaces de la Ferme
Salmon and scallops in cider sauce and fried mussels mains were delicious prawn starter a bit less so but can't complain too much for the price. Great setting in the harbour and helpful service, they let us swap a starter from another menu and were generally friendly.
We were en route to Bayeux, stopped for lunch in Honfleur, and wanted to eat outside. This restaurant serves in a sheltered area on the Harbor, so you have a wonderful view of the boats and activity there. Our waiter was very friendly and patient, explained all of our options, delivered our lunches in a very timely manner, and came back to check if we needed anything else. While the food was not gourmet, it was very tasty, fresh, and plentiful. I would eat here again and recommend it.
