Service is attentive and the owner was so generous to share his stories (and have I already mentioned his wine?
This is a perfect piece of French Terroir in Hong Kong. Large selection of wines and fabulous cheeses. Depending on when you go, it can be a special one on some of the wines, as the owners like to repeat often. If not, the rack on the wall give you a decent option on great value for money wines. Excellent food takes the cook seriously. It's like in France. Wonderful host, Thierry.
Found this treasure in a family holiday. A really wonderful French jewel in the heart of Hong Kong. Staff are both friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable about their wine and menu. The cook was always more than happy to come to our table and give a background for the cheese that made the experience really wonderful. The cream brulee was also amazing! Would recommend to all friends visiting Hong Kong.
If I could give La Fromagerie 6 stars, I would. This small restaurant/bar is a place that corresponds to any mood in which I am. Sometimes I go alone to enjoy a beautiful glass of French wine and with owners and French wine and cheese specialist, Thierry about his latest new discovery and other times my friends and I love to book the whole restaurant for a long late lunch or dinner that goes into the Wee hours. During my last visit it was difficult to choose between the wild salmon and the homemade foie grass... so in the end, of course, we had no choice when both try.... the wild salmon was amazing and the foie grass was just the best I tried in Hong Kong. Whether you are looking for a small discreet local wine bar, or a cozy French restaurant with great food for a simple night with friends, you cannot beat this place.
It is so great to have such a piece of France in Hong Kong. Wine and cheese, explained by the french owner, Thierry, will make you travel without moving from central HK. Definitely a place to try out... and most probably become a regular.
