Octavium - Hong Kong

Cosy homely yet modern dining room, with several tables for 2 alongside large windows. High ceilings though not a large venue. Waiting staff extremely friendly, making a great effort to please. Large wine menu with knowledgeable sommelier at hand, some expensive but not outrageous. Menu portions are healthy and sensible, with high quality presentation and ingredients. All good. We particularly enjoyed octopus appetizer, fettucine with morel mushroom, main course lamb cutlet and sea bass fillet, and the chocolate souffle dessert. Highly recommend for tables between 2 and 4. Will be back.

We loved pastas and Lamp . However, The ambience was poor. A/C was not working properly. It killed our appetite and we wanted to get out of the restaurant as fast as possible. The manager should have informed us about the A/C situation at the very beginning. It was very stuffy we had to ask what happened then they told us. The service was not impressive. We had to ask them every time we wanted to top off our wine glass.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and enjoyed delicious food and attentive service. unfortunately, there was an extremely loud man who was almost shouting while conversing with his fellow diners, that ruined the atmosphere. Other than that, it's a most enjoyable dining experience. Wine pairings are superb.

We really enjoyed our experience at Octavium! The food was incredibly well prepared, delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The decor of the restaurant is simple, yet elegant, and the spacing between the tables allows for privacy and intimacy, which was perfect for our date night birthday celebration. We were also pleasantly surprised by the well-priced wine list. I have no doubt that we will be coming back soon!

Food was reasonably good but lacked the finesse from an earlier visit. Although service was attentive, staff weren't in touch with breaking up conversation to introduce the next course. This happened multiple times, cutting us off mid sentence without any notice.
