Gokoku - Honolulu

Beautiful restaurant but their sushi bar is really counter seating 6 feet in front of the sushi chef. Sushi was fantastic but only one server for the entire restaurant so service was painfully slow for lunch time. 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and she didn 't know the difference between sushi and sashimi. Weird because there were a bunch of staff standing around doing nothing since there we only 5 tables occupied. Food quality still makes me recommend

This was better than I expected! The Gokoku Kaiseki was amazing and filling. Chawanmushi was on point.

Gokoku exceed my expectations once again! They changed their menu and offered a wider selection of foods at every price point. The food was delicious and their service as wonderful

Consistent good sushi and sashimi as well as other Japanese dishes. not cheap, but worth it for special occasions.

I'll keep this short sweet. I was a first time with my friend this restaurant was excellent! I reserved a window table with a scenic view (until the sun naturally went down) we were something isolated, which was beautiful. everything was delicious. I will not come into the details of each individual teller, but I will tell them what we have eaten. we had the following: duck (breast starter), chicken nanban (hot starter), spider roll, shrimp roll, ahi katsu roll, mini udon, green salad w/sesame dressing, sundae, lady killer cocktail, a delicious pfirsich drink (I cannot remember the names). I would highly recommend all the items I just listed if they never tried them, I would definitely order all these items in the future. service was top notch although it is not super busy for a sat night. our server was Seiya he did an excellent job! he was very informative about recommended in the menu in the location to answer all the questions we had. I would also like to mention that all his assistants have done an excellent work (sufficient dirty dishes, refill water, serve food/drinks, etc). everyone who has not eaten here should make a reservation soon they make their bauch happy!
