Shokudo Japanese Restaurant Bar

I took my cousin from San Jose, CA to Shokuda, and we had a wonderful experience. The service and food were both outstanding! The staff was friendly and always attentive to our needs.

The quality and price are consistently great for a meal, especially at lunchtime.

Our server, Sean, was a delight—so friendly and helpful. I mentioned it was our first visit, and he offered some great suggestions. We ordered two Bento boxes (one with Sashimi and the other with Teriyaki Chicken and Beef), a serving of Shiyu Ramen, Mochi Cheese Grain, a glass of Kirin beer, and a Diet Coke. As we waited for our food, I worried we hadn’t ordered enough, but I was happily mistaken—we were all comfortably full. The highlight of the meal was definitely the strawberry toast. It was thick, delicious, and generously drizzled with sauces without being overwhelming. The bread was cut into cubes, making it easy to share and enjoy. I can honestly say we all fell silent for 5-6 minutes while indulging in dessert. That was the first moment of peace I’d experienced as a mother since having my children. It was truly delightful and a fantastic way to kick off our vacation. I highly recommend visiting Shokudo—definitely ask for Sean and make sure to try the honey toast!

Always my favorite place when I am in Honolulu. Great food great service!!!!

Food was great and staff was nice. Not a very big place but the ambiance was cool. Sake was so good.
