We had a great experience sitting at the bar, where the bartenders were fantastic - friendly and with a great sense of humor. I would give the food a 5 out of 5 rating.
Located on Kapahulu Ave in Honolulu, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The portions are incredibly generous, perfect for those with a big appetite. It is ideal for large groups or family outings. Be sure to try their signature fried rice, it is a must-have. We also sampled the perfectly fried garlic chicken and the juicy, flavorful teriyaki beef. Their drink selection is also top-notch. A visit to this restaurant is a must if you find yourself in Honolulu!
Bring a burly bunch of friends because you will be served heaping mountains of delicious food. The signature fried rice is packed with savory goodness and the sidestreet chicken was crispy and flavorful.Come on wine Wednesdays for half off bottles of wine. Friendly service is very casual surroundings. This place is full of large parties of local families, so the vibes are homey and friendly.
Local popular spot which huge family style portions I call the Buca di Beppo of Hawaiian food but better. 4.5 starsFood: 4.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4Cost to worth it rating: 4 (good prices for such large portions, fried rice $26)Opentableable: no, need to call for reservations : oReturn worthiness: yesHighlights:Fried rice with lup cheong: hefty mound piled high on a large oval plate. Super tasty and surprisingly not too salty including bacon, cha siu, and Portuguese sausage. Added the Chinese sausage for an all meats version. 4.5 stars Kalbi: flavorful thick pieces of beef short ribs. You get the choice of on the bone or boneless and we got it on the bone. 4.5 stars. Lilikoi creme brûlée: standard presentation with the crispy sugar layer and soft custard underneath with the hint of passionfruit. 3.5 stars Atmosphere is a simple no frills sports bar type but full of energy. Wine Wednesday: 50% off bottles which is a great deal especially since they have some bottles under $50. Menu option of 6 dishes to share for 5 people for only $150 (including the faves fried rice, kalbi, garlic chicken, and fried pork chop)! Lowlights: Books up. If they are booked like they were the Wednesday we went it's hard to get a table. We luckily got a table before 6pm but shortly after the place was packed. You can sit at the bar if there's an empty spot as a walk in. Been wanting to try this place for a while now and glad I got my chance. We'll be back!
Went here with a group of friends and everyone loved it! The food was amazing, not a bad dish to be had... I highly recommend trying it I don't think you will walk away disappointed!Food: 5/5
