Sushi You Honolulu

Have to say this place is excellent. Small portions but big taste. The amount is just right for the price. Don't come expecting to be stuffed. Come expecting to be satisfied. I wish I had time for more dishes. Definitely a great hidden gem. While there the only customers were Japanese people. Can't argue with that. Keiko is lovely and so friendly. I couldn't understand most of what she was saying though (I'm bad with accents) but it was an excellent experience nonetheless. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to the area.Parking: Lots of spots in the complex so you won't have trouble finding parking.

Wonderful meal prepared by chef Hiro. Lots and lots and lots of food prepared in the Omakase course. Authentic sushi (based on fish imported from Tokyo Fish Market) with some original touches to delight the locals palate as well. All served in a relaxing dining environment. Further, BYOB policy helps to keep the price reasonable. Highly recommend.

The best omakase I have tried so far! And for a very reasonable price. The fish melts in your mouth and has an extremely good quality. Hiro is very friendly and the dishes he makes are very well balanced. It's also BYOB! Definitely will be back

Some background info: We haven 't dined out for years due to the pandemic. Really young kids at home and super elderly grandparents. However, extended family was in town and we felt it was time to start getting out there again. So this was our first time dining out in a long while and we were so excited. I only wish I read the 1 and 2 star reviews prior to coming here. This is something I 'll always regret not doing and will religiously check before going anywhere from now on. Almost everything that happened with these diners happened with us. This was the worst dining experience we 've ever had and I felt so sorry to our guests for subjecting them to this. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. The only thing I can do is leave my honest, extremely wild review. Literally... we walked in and immediately got the death stare from a short woman. Some people just have that kind of face so I brushed it off and still very much looked forward to the amazing meal everyone had mentioned in their higher rated reviews. She wiggled her fingers towards the area we assumed she wanted us to sit at. Our group looking at each other confused and awkwardly sat down. I wish I could at least say the food was good, but we barely began eating when she demanded we move to another area. This was fine with us. Like I said, we just got started. I guess we weren 't moving fast enough because she stood there with a hand on her hip, tapping her foot, and sighed TWICE extremely loudly and in the most animated way. At this point, it was so awkward, I nervously laughed because I was hoping she was joking. This was until she started pushing my cousin. My cousin kind of lost balance and held onto the table to steady herself. It wasn 't until seated at our new table did my cousin realize when she held onto the table earlier, she splattered some shoyu onto her clothes and bag. When we asked for a cup of water because we wanted to use it to clean up everything, the woman refused. After reading the 1 and 2 star reviews, now I know why. She 'd have to clean everything else we used anyway so it 's just really odd. She glared at and accidentally knocked into us whenever she passed by or delivered food. She would throw/ drop the plates really hard onto the table. I lost a piece of sushi as it fell off the plate because of this. She chuckled under her breath and turned around. We could not enjoy our meal no matter how good everyone said it is. If it wasn 't for my cousins saying not to leave mid-meal, I would have. And i have the same complaint of automatically charge tip to a bill without notice. And we didn 't even have the typical number of people that restaurants start automatically charging tip. We calculated the total without tip and left without saying a word (from both sides). As we were backing out of the parking stall, we saw her coming out holding up the check. We kept driving. Never again will this place get my hard-earned money. Never will I forget this experience or that woman 's face. Never in my life have I met someone like her. It does not matter how good the food is, no one should be putting money into a business with someone so hateful running it. They do not deserve to stay in business just to terrorize people.
