Feedback gevenWith my favorite manapua place shuttered (Char Hung Sut), I’ve been looking for more places that serve delicious steamed and baked manapua. I have found what might now be my favorite place on Oahu in U Choice In. The manapua are big, packed with savory and sweet char siu, and #brokedamout. I know what I’m taking to the neighbor island then next time I travel.
For $14 I got a large potion healthy meal. Pepper chicken and soy sauce fish are the best.
The convenient location (right next to Don Quijote) save me trips to Chinatown to get char siu and rice cakes. Char siu never disappoints. Rice cakes are so soft and don’t have that sour taste. They also sell some local favorites like manapua and pork hash which sell pretty quickly. I saw people ordering half a dozen or a dozen each time. Prices are reasonable. Still no dine-in at this time.
My measure of authentic Chinese food are the hanging ducks or slabs of roasted pork that greet you as you walk in. We love to order the steamed buns with pork in the middle and they also have a baked version of this. Order a couple of those baked buns and a bowl of noodle soup, it'll be one of the simplest and most satisfying meals you'll ever have. It's definitely filling so share with a friend or love one.
3 choices ala carte costs $11 also comes with a choice of rice or chow mein. The food is ok. Not much of meats. Everything seems not to be what Chinese food taste like. I prefer the Chinese restaurant in town.
