Vegan City Hawai'i - Honolulu

I am thrilled to have discovered Vegan City; they serve some of the most delicious comfort food we have ever tasted! We ordered a variety of seven dishes to share, and all of them were excellent. Can't wait to come back for more!

Growing up with a mother from Wahiawa and myself from Gardena, California, I am very familiar with Hawaiian comfort foods. Since transitioning to a vegan diet, I have had to recreate my favorite dishes like mac salad and loco moco. While researching our trip, I came across a video of moco loco being made at a restaurant and knew I had to try it! The gravy was delicious and the quinoa rice was a nice twist. The mac salad brought back memories and was even better than the one I make at home. My friend Monica ordered the fried rice, which never disappoints. There is also a dairy-free soft-serve ice cream spot nearby that we hope to visit before the end of our trip.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. They have a fantastic selection of healthy and unique dishes that made it difficult to decide what to order! We tried the jackfruit tacos and loco loco, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Great plate lunches and lots of other choices on the menu. All vegan. Very friendly service. The loco moco and “chicken” katsu were excellent. The macaroni salad was among the best I’ve ever had, vegan or non-vegan.
