Decent traditional Chinese cuisine. We were there twice and both times had a good service, but the food was never something that stood around the other restaurants. Both times we tried different dishes, for the first time we thought well, maybe we didn't order the right stuff. The second time was much better, the waitress helped us choose what she thought would satisfy us most and not too much food. What worked well because we almost ate everything, but as I said that everything was very moderate, some with a slightly slim texture. Overall, it is not a bad place for the price, but do not expect amazing food. Also note that the toilet is located outside and is considered public toilet, so it is not the cleanest. If you have ever been in China, the experience here is with what you are in Hong Kong.
Maybe it was because of the Chinese New Year Festivities. When we entered there were tables. Then it got crowded. Was asked if would share a table. Ok, separate checks please. First, took their orders before us, didn't inform us there was no Dim Sum, Didn't serve the soup, both us and the other party had to keep asking for forks. Tried to refill my water myself, and manager said he will send server. Refilled our water just before last dish was served. Good thing they kept the tea refilled. Kept bumping our chairs as they passed us. Took my granddaughter's chair when she went to the bathroom. I had to grab a chair from another table. Didn't thank or comp us for letting another couple sit with us. But all complaints. Shrimp w/ snow peas was plentiful, we counted sixteen good sized shrimp, and lots of snow peas. Seafood mein, was sparse on the seafood. Three small shrimp, two squid, one medium sized filet of fish, and four (I think) baby octopus. Noodles on the perimeter was too crispy. It shattered all over the place when we divided to serve, and the middle was just soggy swimming in the sauce. Beef w/ bitter melon was excellent. Slices of beef was tender, and just the right amount with the bitter melon. Bitter melon was firm an crunchy. Sauce was thick and clung to the pieces. Beef was hefty cuts, evenly braised. Our other table mates were not impressed by the service either. They had reservation at Legends, but their table was delayed, so they came here. They wanted Dim Sum also, so they are planning to go to Royal Kitchen afterwards. They did compliment the duck buns, and braised pork belly.
The only restaurant in the Cultural Paza that is open after 2 pm. All others closed. Food and service are average. I experienced bad service one Valentine's Day when there was not enough cooks to handle the crush of diners.
I will never go back there. The service was terrible and slow. The quality of the food was very POOR ! I saw the owner and someone else handle the custard tarts with their bare hands, NO GLOVES !! The chairs are dirty the floors are slipery with grease. Not to mention the worst experience.. There was a B52 flying around you know cockroach. It was on the floor at our table. a young boy saw it first. The waiter had to try and catch it. YUK !! Never Again !!
