Called to make a reservation for a small party for a 70th birthday dinner. I was informed that I can't do a reservations on the weekends because is it first come first serve. That's very absurd considering people usually have gatherings at restaurants on weekends. The manager was short and was cutting me off before I could even finish talking. I called the 280 location and was accommodated right away. Do better.
The manager at Longhorn in Hoover is very impersonal and disconnected from the customers. I reserved a table on their website and was told that the wait is 40- 50 minutes. Which is fine. When I arrive to check in, before I can even get out that I made a reservation online the manager proceed to tell me that it will be an hour to an hour and 15 minute wait. I then explain that I made reservations online and you dismissed that to repeat the same thing to me. He wasn’t actively listening he was only listening to respond. He told me that online isn’t accurate and this is a busy time. Granted I get that but his dismissive behavior is unacceptable. Since I’m being treated to dinner I stayed, only to not have to wait that long. This man is ruining the atmosphere of this restaurant with his attitude. Longhorn Corporate I suggest that you all invest in leadership training for Mr. Graham. If the customers feel this way I can only imagine what the employees are experiencing. The food and staff were great.
Needed a quick snack. White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms. Greeted with a smile and friendly service. Ordered at the to-go stand and I don't believe I waited about 15 minutes. They came out hot and ready to devour.
The steak, potato and bread were excellent on my visit today but what caused me to post this review and take away points was my bartender/server. It took forever to get my first drink and menu. It seemed that whatever she was doing on her phone was more important than a paying customer. She eventually brought me my drink and some bread but never brought the extra butter that was requested. Eventually, she asked for my lunch order. The food arrived promptly and was perfectly cooked. By then (about 45 mins later), I was ready to order another drink. I finally managed to get the attention of the bartender as she looked up from her phone and got my drink. Like I said, the food was good but the customer service was lacking today. The bartender/server's phone was more important than me and when she did interact with me she really made me feel if I was just a nuisance and not important. I'm really low key and low maintenance and, generally, cut servers some slack but today was over the top. Longhorn, you can do better when it comes to customer facing employees. Don't let them use their phones while at work. Require them to provide good customer service.
