Tortugas Pizza - Hoover

Gluten-free experience: I visited this restaurant specifically for their gluten-free pizza, but I do not recommend it. It was actually worse than the gluten-free pizzas from 2010, when gluten-free options were just starting to emerge.

The deep dish pizza was fantastic! We are in town for a week and may order again before we leave. Highly recommend if you a looking for a great pizza.

Best Chicago style pizza in town. Pizza by slice or the whole pie options available. Vegetarian pizza and garlic bread are nice. Small little place, friendly service. Parking available for free

The pizza is great bar none. My only problem was they should remind you when you order approximate cook time because it does take a long time.

After spending the whole day hiking at Oak Mountain, I was famished. A quick search on Yelp for pizza led us to a charming little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. With great reviews, we thought we'd give it a shot. We walked in just two minutes before closing, but the staff kindly prepared our pizza anyway. I honestly can't recall the last time I had such an amazing pizza! It was so delicious that we couldn't resist snapping a photo to share, despite having already devoured several slices. Seriously, if you get the chance, make sure to try this place! We'll definitely be returning—it might just become our new post-hike tradition.
