Nelson's Meats Bakery And Deli

I believe Nelson's Meats has been replaced by a new establishment called East Coast BBQ. The atmosphere at the restaurant is rather disappointing now. The meat case is often not fully stocked, with pre-cooked chicken breasts on display. They also no longer offer bakery items or frozen goods. Prices have increased significantly, such as the bacon-wrapped filets which used to be $5.99, now priced at $8.99. The charm of the place has been lost, and I regret to say that I will not be returning to this deli.

As locals, I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, this restaurant serves inedible food. The sandwiches are best described as microwaved, with rubbery chicken. The meat counter is often empty or filled with brown products. The refrigerator coolers are also frequently empty. I have visited five times to confirm my initial impressions and it seems to be getting worse each time. I do not leave this review lightly, as I have waited to see if things would improve. Sadly, it seems that this establishment has not yet closed despite my concerns. I can only be honest in my review at this point.

If you're looking for a good rib eye steak, skip Cub and head to Nelson's instead. The quality is consistently disappointing at Cub, whether you choose a thin or thick cut. For a superior rib eye at a similar price point, Nelson's is the way to go. If you're willing to splurge a bit more, Capitol Grill offers an even better rib eye, though it comes at four times the cost. Thank you, Mr. Nelson, for the delicious steak options.

I accidentally didn't expect what I was blown away. The beef Jerky is art, it's perfect and absolutely spectacular best beef smell I've ever had in my life! Amazing!

Fantastic meat! I usually get the beef tenderloins or ribeyes and they have all been good. I tried their cooked short rib for lunch one time and it was truly incredible. They also have a small selection of other grocery items as well (bread is great). I try to go here when I can. Give it a try!
