As soon as we walked in, I knew we had made the right choice thanks to all the Kentucky Wildcats posters adorning the walls. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We all ordered burgers, fries, and onion rings, and the food was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend stopping by!
The food is fantastic, but the servers can get a bit frustrated with customers faster than expected. While the dishes are outstanding, the service might make me think twice about returning. It's worth mentioning that once the staff warms up to you, they are much friendlier. Just a heads up: first impressions often leave a lasting impact.
The burger and fries were really enjoyable, but the coleslaw had a bit of a musty smell, which was off-putting. I tend to be particular about mayo-based dishes for a reason. While I won’t judge the restaurant solely based on that experience, I did find the service to be somewhat inexperienced, and we had to wait quite a while for our food. Although the place wasn't overly busy, the takeout orders seemed to slow down the dining in service. Despite that, I plan to return for the delicious burgers, and the fish I ordered to go was also tasty. The condiments, like lettuce and onions, were fresh, which I appreciated.
I have gotten breakfast from here twice. The Western omelet is delicious, so I might go more often except they cannot seem to understand how to make home fries crispy. I was told they deep fry them, so it shouldn 't be that difficult. I DO NOT like soggypotatoes. The color wasn 't even tan. They simply weren 't cooked long enough. It was like I heard what you wanted, I just don 'tcare. This is how we cook them. To be clear, so that no one tries to claim they were soggy due to being in a carryoutcontainer, they were exactly the same on both visits. Additionally, there seems to be some credence to the reviews that stateregulars get preferential service. During my dine in experience a party was seated after I was, but was served before I was, finished eating and was rising to leave only moments after my food was delivered. It was at least 40 minutes before I wasserved, For my carryout experience i was told 35 min for my order to be made which I found rather shocking, but whatever. WhenI arrived, I actually observed the cook and noted why. There was no hustle, but rather a very languid pace. Also, the person whofinally came to take my money saw me walk in and then proceeded to play with the phone (their music system, i believe) beforefinally waiting on me. I would like to try other things, but hangry is real. I would have to go not hungry to be able to sitand wait that long, and who wants to go to a restaurant when they aren 't hungry? I do not have enough time on my lunch break toplace a carryout order, wait for it to be done, and then actually be able to taste it. That is unfortunate bc it looks like justthe kind of dive I am usually drawn to. I read through many of the reviews prior to visiting. I often decide whether to try arestaurant based on the photos. Usually I will read a few reviews as well, but normally the pics and the menu are the decidingfactor. That being said, I almost did not try this place due to some of the comments made by the owner
Here was a find. build their own burger, little diner. my man had a fried egg in his what his favorite is. I had extra pickles and fried wobble. I say the breakfast is better (I believe it) but it is also right for dinner.
