O'bombay - Hornsby

This is a restaurant that has been here for 20 years and has had a number of past owners. The new owner Andy, has by far the best menu in 20 years, and staff are by far the best staff in 20 years. Without taking you through a step by step of the service I can say we were thoughtfully looked after and along with the highly interesting menu combined to have a most enjoyable night. Our visit was mid week and the restaurant was the busiest I have seen it. So it appears that people are voting with their feet. The Pani Puri is served from a simulated Bombay street cart and is fun and gets the meal experience started and initiates the interaction with staff and guests. Dessert is different every day so is not listed on the menu. A big wrap to Rosie and especially Goutham for looking after us so well. Goutham is most knowledgeable and talented. I’ll be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

I had dinner at O’Bombay with my brother tonight only by chance because the restaurant next door was closed for renovations! We didn’t know what to expect but were blown away by the impeccable service and how delicious the food was! It’s got a kick to it without being over spicy and the presentation was spot on. My only criticism is the menu is difficult to navigate but the staff are really friendly and helpful in making recommendations! Prices are also very reasonable! If you like Indian food and are looking for a quick, in and out meal with a semi restaurant feel, this is the place! Plus I really like the contemporary atmosphere and Indian street food concept!

Best debutant in the Sydney food space this year, and by a distance. Went with family to get kids have the ‘Paani Puri from Tela’ experience and we were bowled over by the hospitality and food. Paav Baaji, filter coffee was top class. Can’t wait to visit again and try Misal Pav, Bombay anda burjee. This is casual Indian street food served in a pristine setting without compromising on any of its ingenuity. A must try for all.

Authentic Indian food! A place not to be missed. Everything from ambience to menu, are well thought of. Will keep coming back. The chef is magical and will get you a perfectly delightful experience. Food that tingles your tastebuds!

I have just been blown away by the most amazing food and equally fabulous staff. I will be back for many more visits. The best food I have eaten in a long time.
