Lantana Grill - HORSESHOE BAY

Given that this restaurant is part of a 4-star resort, I expected a higher level of care regarding the food they serve. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, but it arrived slightly undercooked. They kindly replaced it with a complimentary club sandwich, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The taste was mediocre, and the BLT sandwich I ordered was overly toasted, making it painful to bite into. If it weren't for the servers being so apologetic and genuinely nice, I would have only rated this place 2 stars.

The Horseshoe Bay Resort is beautiful, and while the Lantana Grill Bar has an attractive ambiance, I cannot recommend dining there. The food was disappointing, especially considering the steep prices. The most concerning aspect was the service; our server was quite slow and struggled with English, which I find surprising for such a high-end venue.

Wow! The service at the bar was outstanding. We stopped by after an open bar event and were a bit tired of the usual drinks. Lantana had an impressive selection of bourbons and several options from Macallan, which really pleased both me and my business partner. Our glasses were never allowed to get close to empty—there was always a refill ready for us, served neat. Dominic was the bartender, and he, along with the female manager whose name I can’t recall, ensured that our entire group was well taken care of. We filled the entire bar and truly didn’t want to leave. In hindsight, I wish we had skipped the earlier open bar so we could have spent more time at Lantana. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to offer some small snacks at the bar. Thank you so much, Dominic, and your coworker! We will definitely be back next time, and it will just be for fun, not business.
