Gotthardpass: here is the border of Europe. on the one hand, medium-meer, on the other side, Central Europe. we were in that juli, 31st, at the gotthard pass, with a friend, with her camper, at the celebration for the resurrection of the birth of the Swiss confederation, which took place the next day. this day we decided to eat in the evening, in the villageli restaurant, directly in front of hospental. but it was closed! the weekly rest day was Tuesday, and we were there on Tuesday! what a bad luck! this moment was expected! So we had to take another place. I decided to ask for the help of triopadvisor and it signaled me this place, right in the center of hospental. we reached it and suddenly found it beautiful. we decided to stay here. we placed outside, in a sunny and hot early evening. it was only 18:15 o'clock, and we were asked to wait until 6:30 o'clock because the cook was eating. no problems, chefs, after cooking so long, or before work, also have to eat! we waited a minute, and in the meantime we ordered to drink. a wee for my friend: she is a wee lover. wein from wallis . for me. rivella, a famous Swiss drink made with milk serum, I can't resist when I'm in the Swiss. after a few minutes we can start ordering. I wasn't so sure, but at the end, dear fish, I decided for a trout, with rice, spinats and lemon butter. for my friend, huh with wobble sauce and rösti, a kind of kartoffeln croquette, typical from the Swiss. in a few minutes our dishes arrive. they were delicious. my friend, listening to her, was delicious, one of the best she never ate, and she said it could be compared to that she did at a famous place for huh. If I had to choose again, I would do their choice. still my trout was also delicious! after that we decided to have a sweet one. I chose blueberry cake with cream, and my friend a mini cup with vanilleeis and saw (sahne, in german.) the mini cup is the one that they can see on the photo: let them find out the regular. at the end, after some rest at this beautiful place, and some cakes with a few near us, from chur, it is the moment of bill. my forelle accused 34 francs (30,80 euro,) my friend court 21,50 (18,98 euro) the mini cup of the friend of mine, 9,50 francs and my dessert 8 francs. wein, in the Swiss, allows to cancel the bill. in this case it was equal: 19,50 francs for 5 dl wein bottle (17,21 euro) the total amount was 107,50 francs (94,88 euro) on average 47,44 euro for everyone. it sounds expensive, but we were in the Swiss, in a known locality and in the center. to the villageli was much cheaper, but this is another place for the Swiss the price is right. the personal is really friendly, the service is right. so I can suggest this place for a pleasant recovery, in a really nice and with natural environment. expect very high prices. but as I said, for the Swiss and for the place, in the center of hospental, they are right.
After a multi-hour hike high above Andermatt’, we climbed to this village restaurant filled with other skiers in 2000 meters. the service was a bit slow, but that allowed us to recover before the bus to othermatt and the next departures. the menu was extensive, from raw and cut to salads. eating was excellent, the beer cold, and the ambiente most attractive!
I try to return to Hospintal every 2 yrs. I try to bring business associates with me to share the wonderful Swiss Alps around Hospintal and Andermatt. We have always been treated as family when we stay there. A wonderful small hotel with excellent food...and a warm bed. Always clean and well kept up. Really the best around.
I ordered a coffee, pellegrino and a inflammatory cake. I asked 3 times about the tart; and finally a waitress log and said there was a problem in the kitchen... at 50 minutes I saw the manager and said that this is ridiculous where my order is. he finally kissed and said the kitchen never got the command and it came 10mins later. they gave it to be free, but made me pay for the water and coffee not a good look, especially when I was a guest in the hotel.
