Jabel - Hospital de Orbigo

We had a fun meal at Restaurant Jabel. We had an early dinner after a long day of walking on the Camino. I had a big Ensalda Mixta and my husband had entrecôte. Both were very good. We stared a dessert of house made crème de limon, (lemon curd) which was really delicious. The chef/owner was very kind and we enjoyed talking with other diners. Cute decor, good food, open early. A

We stopped in Hospital de Orbigo for the night on our way to Astorga to shorten a long stage on the Camino. I am so happy we made that choice. We took the extra time we had this afternoon to wander around town and have lunch at Jabel. First of all, take the staff suggestions on your meal. We were treated to a friendly and local three course lunch of soup, vegetables and pork that was incredibly satisfying after our walk. The food was excellent and the wine was perfect and thoughtfully chosen.

We were on our way to Santiago and we stop in Hospital del Órbigo at the end of our journey. The restaurant is a typical one, offering simple food within a simple menu. Nothing special to say about the venue and the meal. It was correct at a very interesting price. Good choice if one wants to eat something during the Camino.

Todo muy bien como siempre, ambiente cercano y buen trato. Las hamburguesas son tremendas y están terribles.

Tomamos algo en la terraza, no comimos pero la carta era correcta, con productos locales, un poco elevado el precio, pero correcto en general. Local muy chulo con comedor en la segunda planta y en el exterior también se puede comer.
