We ended up barely eating and going somewhere else for lunch instead. Even the Mac and cheese, which should be easy enough to make, was gross. Desserts were also awful. The only edible parts of the buffet was the made to order crepes, and the French toast. Everything else tasted like bad cafeteria food. Bathrooms were super run down and creepy.
Another great visit- from the valet staff. Mr. Phil, Brandon, Mr. Jimmy and Mr. Shane and all the men who greet us and send us off with a smile. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and housekeeping does a great job! Work continues on the building and it shows! The dining service has returned to its former level of glory and brunch today was outstanding!!!! Beautifully displayed, constantly being refilled, and it was delicious! Our kudos to the Chef and to our server Olivia for the most enjoyable brunch! We look forward to the next visit!
This place is wild. The lobby is super fun with live music, a large bar, and nice porch to people watch outside. The swimming pool is unique in that there are two levels, two pools , and one hot tub. You can bring a small cooler for pool drinks. The rooms are a whole different story. They have a historical feel with old fashioned furniture. The rooms are shabby chic as there are holes in the walls, peeling paint, wallpaper and chipped bathroom tile. When you get off the elevator, the halls are dimly lite like the hotel in the moving The Shinning. The bathrooms are very small and the shower was disgusting. I wore my flipflops in the shower because it was so gross. Lastly, the walls are super thin. At 2am I was woke up by 3-4 guys in the room next door stumbling drunk. I didn 't try the restaurant or the spa. I won 't stay here again. There are other hotels that look way nicer.
Positives: Location near baths Beds don 't totally suck. They have an ice machine? No Ghosts Negatives: Mandatory $15/day resort fee that was not included in my Expedia payment. Sus. Rooms are dated and bathroom is Rusty. Paint is bulging and peeling Can hear neighboring rooms and activities therein Elevators are slow. Very. Slow Scent of smoke immediately upon going outside. The front of the hotel is full of smokers at night. $22/night to park in a parking garage that is full. Parking garage that is crumbling with no stairs to the top. You have to climb the ramp. No Ghosts This place was in its glory days in the 20s and 30s. They say this place is haunted, but I think the ghosts have all moved out due to the ethereal suckage of the hotel that transcends physical being. The rooms are smallish. The locks.... Well, they use real brass keys (that they brag about) and they charge you $30 if you lose them, and a door lock that 's finicky at best, a puzzle box at worst. The hallways give haunted mansion vibes if the grim grinning ghosts stopped grinning, tableflipped and left. Trust the ghosts. Do as they did. There are better haunts elsewhere. I 'll be back when Al Capone is.
It's historic and it's pretty cool but keep in mind it's OLD and the Rooms are scheduled to go under renovation by next year. We went it was jam-packed. Valet and All other Parking completely full. Had to find a spot on the street next to the Hotel. With that all said Beds and Room were fine. Fire Alarm on Friday Night was quite an eventful moment, especially walking down stairs from a top floor. Went to Live Music in other venues because the Lobby was jam packed for the Music at the Hotel. Bar was always FULL so my usual hanging out at the Bar for a night cap wasn't in order. All this to say it was an authentic experience we enjoyed but probably just a one-timer until they renovate the rooms.
