How beautiful the themes is (taupe banketttas, holzlatten, scheckerboard flooring) there is not much in the way of padding to absorb all the infantile wake up. ah, the suburbs. the service is cheerful and the children are quickly plagued, and so to the more serious business of eating. a node on soul food is inevitable, and both...read more
I had a great experience visiting Jackson Rye's first restaurant on Wardour Street in Soho, so when I heard they opened a second location in Chiswick (replacing the previous Jamie Oliver pizza restaurant), I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately, getting to Chiswick can be a bit of a hassle. On a warm evening, my party decided to sit outside, which was nice but somewhat uncomfortable for people-watching. We soon regretted our decision as it took 30 minutes for a server to even take our drink order - there seemed to be a lack of organization among the staff. Before we finally received our bottle of wine, we were mistakenly given another table's bill, further highlighting the lack of communication among the staff.
We visited this place a little while after it had been opened. Since then, we have come here twice and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The interiors are quite nice and very well decorated, almost like a breath of fresh air. The staff is quick, efficient and very amicable. The food is good too but they could do with a few improvements. Recommended for a one time visit.
I had a hard time booking this place for dinner a couple of days ago, but the effort truly paid off. We reached there at the time for our booking and were seated instantly. We ordered a Crab mayonnaise to start with and my friend called for a chopped salad, both of which were prepared nicely and tasted delicious. Though the meal was a little expensive, the overall experience was truly amazing.
This restaurant makes you feel like a welcomed guest in someone's home. The service is exceptional, truly top-notch! The staff is warm, attentive, and polite. When a dish was served late, before we even had a chance to mention it, they came over and explained the delay. To top it off, they ended up comping the dish for us.
