Brown Sugar's -b-q - Houston

I had hoped that after 13 years, the experience would have improved, but unfortunately, it hasn't. I was surprised to see them handling the food without gloves. Overall, I was disappointed. Food rating: 1/5.

The brisket was tough and chewy, reminiscent of low-quality processed dog food. The barbecue sauce had no spice; while I’m not a fan of excessively spicy food, I expected more depth of flavor from a place like this. The sauce was underwhelming and will remain so unless improvements are made. The ribs were similarly tough and chewy, clearly not prepared on the day I ordered them. I couldn't finish the meal, and to make matters worse, I discovered bits of plastic in the ribs, as shown in the attached picture. Overall, the food was unappetizing. I wouldn’t even consider bringing it home for my dog. This restaurant does not live up to the "Brown Sugar Barbecue" name, which implies authentic BBQ, but instead felt more like cafeteria food at best. On a positive note, the customer service was decent; the clerk at the register was friendly and accommodating. I would rate this meal one star for the food quality, but the customer service earns it an extra star.

The Bar-B-Q is absolutely exceptional. The location is quite convenient, and the service was swift. I really appreciated the atmosphere, which wonderfully combines outdoor and indoor elements. I highly recommend that everyone visit and enjoy it for themselves. Food: 5/5.

For me, this place missed every mark. Ordering the food was similar to going through a cafeteria line, including the scowling lady at the cash register, at the end of the line. Yes, she wasn 't hospitable and friendly looking. She just told me my total, waited for my payment, and I just sought out a table in the sea of all of the open tables. I wonder when the lunch rush starts?I ordered a two meat plate, with sausage and lean brisket. I opted for the spicy BBQ sauce and was anxious to see what that was like. Green beans plus beans and rice rounded out the meal.First off, the serving size of the meal seemed to be limited to the size of the small, Styrofoam plates that look as if they came from the local grocery store. Next, the food was not tasty, at all. The BBQ sauce tasted as if someone added a couple of drops of sauce into 4 ounces of water. It was very watered down and there was not spice to it. The sausage reminded me of store bought, packaged links and the brisket was not memoarable. It was some of the worst BBQ I 've had in a long time.Most of the reviews are about the breakfast and others seems to be very nostalgic of a place that 's been around for a while. I don 't see coming back to this restraurant.

Awesome meal, I probably bit off more than I can chew because I kept ordering sides. But everything that I tasted was awesome. This was my first time experience here so everything looked good to where I kept ordering it. The peach cobbler was the cherry on top.Food: 5/5
