The restaurant had a dedicated vegan menu featuring empanadas - I sampled three of them and they were delicious. They also offered vegan pastries, although I did not try them. I enjoyed a flavorful chai with almond milk as well.
This coffee shop in Houston is one of my favorites. It has a cozy atmosphere, resembling a living room. Despite being busy, it remains relatively quiet, and they don't blast the air conditioning like other places. The patio is comfortable and dog-friendly, with a jar of treats for our furry friends. They offer delicious coffee as well as a variety of gluten-free and vegan options on the menu, including Little Northern Bakehouse bread. Their chai is especially outstanding.
This is a cozy spot where you can bring your book or laptop. The coffee is fantastic as well. I highly recommend trying the warm carrot bread - it's delicious. The coffee shop has a very charming atmosphere.
Fantastic coffee shop located in the Heights near the intersection of Heights Boulevard and East 11th Street, right across from the Houston Heights World War II Memorial. The space is an old house, which they've done a great job of converting into a socialarea and workspace. There's ample seating both indoors and out with lots of natural light inside that filters through amultitude of windows on all sides, providing for a soothing, chill environment. Additionally, they have outlets locatedthroughout the house that makes it very convenient to plug in laptops and other electronics. Outside is a wide porch which wrapsaround the side, allowing for lots of people to work and chat alfresco when the weather permits. The menu includes yourstandard coffee options all sourced from local roasters like Java Pura, specialty teas, smoothies, several wines and beers (onlyin cans) and a limited food selection of pastries, pizza, soups, salads, and sandwiches. For this visit, I ordered a regulardrip coffee and kolache with cheddar cheese and andouille (Cajun smoked pork sausage with garlic, pepper, and other seasonings). The drip coffee was great, though the kolache was not as flavorful as I had hoped. Given I ordered it in the afternoon, though, the lack of freshness and corresponding effect on flavor was to be expected. There is limited parking in front, but a backparking lot provides additional spaces. If things were truly busy, I could see parking being somewhat of an issue, but with theoverall seating being about half full, I had no problem snagging a spot in the back. All in all, EQ is exactly what you lookfor in a coffee shop chill environment, lots of seating, decent beverage and food menu, and good for all kinds of activitieslike working, studying, or socializing. It is my favorite coffee shop that I've visited in the Heights neighborhood thus far.
I want to 5 star this because the atmosphere, staff, and location is awesome. The coffee just wasn't the greatest. I will be coming back here as everything else was exactly what I love in a cafe/coffee shop.
