Fuad's Restaurant - Houston

We went to Fuad's Restaurant the last day of HRW, just to try it out. They had a large selection to choose from and the food was very good. The staff was very attentive and the live music was not so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talking (big plus! . We felt like this was a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Very cozy and welcoming. We do have plans on going again.

We had a lovely experience at Fuad's. It is definitely an old school vibe. We were early during the week, so there was no live music. The piped in music was good for the most part. We like the older, 60's, 70's music, so enjoyed when that was playing, although there was some variation an for a short time got a bit loud. The bar was a gathering spot for several younger women who had drinks and chatted while we ate. We had the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu, and every course seemed to be full size. Each item was prepared well and served nicely. We had duck in a cherry sauce which was really excellent. Also loved the bananas foster, flamed at the table! We had house wines which were also quite nice. Other wines are served by the bottle only.

Didn’t realize the chef doesn’t arrive until 6 PM per waiter. Very nice food and service. Verbal menu. No prices mentioned.

Love Fuads. Have been eating there for 30 years. Great food. Fun atmosphere. Superior service. Friendly patrons.

Our favorite chef Josef was not there. However we were treated well and the food came out great!
