I went to Luigis for the first time this weekend. My husband and I had a big pizza (the highest 14 in) for lunch and some salad. He can eat a whole pizza himself if he wants, but he literally has only eaten 2 pieces and a small dinner (we went for lunch). It was so full, so good. All real ingrediants, all well cooked. We take my mother in the law for her birthday, her place I would wait for. (if there was one, there is no one around 1130). We are so glad that we have pulled down the street from a place like this, we will be regular.
Full dinner. I went to Luigi and had an amazing time. The service was good step, I didn't want to go in and eat. We started with the antipasti and the caprese salad. they did a great work with this rustic style of food. The olive salad she put in the antipasti for an amazing flavor combination. Then we followed with salads (we both have the Greek salad). I was a little disappointed that it had no cucumbers in it, that was always a clamp in every Greek salad I ever had. for dinner, we shared the minenstrone soup and a bowl of pasta. It was great... though the pasta was a little salty. that could be because I asked for a custom order of linguini, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and capers in an olive oil sauce. for the desert, the Tiramisu. It was unrealistic. I highly recommend this place. It feels like I went to a restaurant other than that reviewed by the others.
I think the food is good. It is not the upper shelf Italian, but the pizza is great. The shell is also pretty good. The price is probably somewhat steep for the food, but not as easy as some of the reviews can show.
Great food. Best fettucini alfredo I've had since coming back from Italy. Whenever I'm in town, I always drop by.
