Oka - Houston

Oka was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious.

The dining experience at this restaurant is inconsistent. Some dishes are very good, while others are mediocre. Although some dishes had good components, they did not seem to work well together. The service was lacking, as our waiters were not knowledgeable about the menu or wine list. The food also took a long time to come out of the kitchen, despite the restaurant being mostly empty on a Saturday night. This was my second and final visit to this place, as there are plenty of better dining options in Houston.

The sashimi at Oka is superb and reasonably priced. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. This hidden gem is often overlooked due to the busy atmosphere of Caracol next door. Sashimi enthusiasts should definitely give this place a try!

Awful food, too expensive for quality. tried to be too hard, to be creativ and falls flat. rolled rib eye with pressed avacato was disgusting. will not return. no wonder it was empty.

I had the grilled salmon Bento Box and thought that the vegetables that were served with it were over cooked and not that great . I think that they could have served better vegetables. They had too much sauce or oil and over cooked. Fewer vegetables and just a better variety would be better. Also the salmon was either wild , or just too fishy tasting. It doesn't say if it is wild salmon though. There was plenty of food though the fried rice looked a whole lot better and I wish I had asked them to substitute that instead of the white steamed rice. I would return.
