The Wifr and I tried the Ochsenschwanz. It came with beans and rice, curtains and a salad. The beans and rice were tasty. The Plantains were slightly friend, just enough to still a little bit crisp. The oxtail was very savory and tasteful. The meat was deliciously tender and went well with a bowl of beans and rice. You have a lot of options for salad dressings. All in all, a great place. This is a restaurant in this area. We look forward to their great opening to see how their whole menu will look!
I had the oxen, Jollof and Tilapia and Jollof about Grubhub. It was my first time to order this kind of kitchen. Jollof reminds me of Jambalaya minus the pieces of sausage, chicken and shrimp, but it tastes meat flavor and tomatoes. I'd like more sauce with the oxen and fish. I also expected some pepper sauce, but I bet it's more of a dune in experience.
I decided to try out this restaurant for their gentle reopening today. The owner was very welcoming and personable. They were only serving African/Nigerian cuisine today, which was perfect for me. They mentioned that seafood will be on the menu next week, so it's worth checking beforehand to see if they are open. I ordered the Egusi with Fufu and my wife had the Tilapia with Jollof rice and Plantains. Both dishes were flavorful and perfectly seasoned.
Beautiful family size. My bitter-leaf soup. Slept Egusi. Nice. Nice as made at home quality egusi. Not the usual public restaurant OILY egusi. I noticed that the Egusi is not oily.... just traditional and authentic. Those who do not understand the difference between genuine African quality and restaurant quality may not feel it. That's healthier. We're going back.
The owner of this restaurant is fantastic! If you're looking to support a wonderful local business owner, be sure to check out Royal Seafood Gourmet!
