Sticky's Chicken - Houston

It’s unfortunate to report that this restaurant has closed. I visited recently and I’m really glad I did! The food was bursting with flavor, had a clean taste, and the place itself was well-kept. The staff were friendly, and my order arrived quickly and piping hot! With so many new establishments opening up, I often feel shortchanged, especially given the inflation, when the dining experience doesn’t match what I paid. However, this place offers dishes that are priced around $8-10, which I find quite reasonable. They’re located in the same parking lot as Kiss, which tends to be overpriced. The restaurant is on the smaller side, with about 10-12 tables inside, but it’s definitely worth a visit!

I ordered from this restaurant back in April 2022 and was really impressed. The wings were perfectly crispy without being over-battered and tasted fantastic. However, when we decided to order from them again today, we were very disappointed. The wings were not the same as the ones we enjoyed before, and even the fries tasted stale. What happened?

I’m always eager to explore new fried chicken spots, so I decided to check out Sticky's. My overall experience was average. I ordered the Karaage chicken sliders along with fries and a chicken sandwich. The flavors of both the sliders and the sandwich were decent. The sliders leaned more toward the sweet side, featuring a Hawaiian roll and an aioli that tasted like it had some Kewpie mayo mixed in. The chicken sandwich had a bit more spice and a traditional bun, but don’t expect it to be very spicy, as there’s only one heat level. The ordering process is done at the counter using an iPad, making it a pretty casual and self-service experience. I found parking to be quite easy as well.

The glaze on the shallot wings were good but the wings themselves were okay. Not bad but lacked the first bite impact I was looking for. The karate was good but the rice it was served with had a weird flavor profile and was very wet at the bottom. The pool of liquid at the bottom of the rice was very sweet and off putting. I liked the loaded fried but I don't think I'd get it again for 8.75.Overall not the worst but lackluster for the price point.

Great vibes. Very authentic tasting food. MARK AND JOHN were great. We came about an hour before closing. Food was fresh, hot, and freakin tasty.They accommodated us. Talked a bit and I really liked how real they were. Definitely coming back.Chicken over rice and the slab wings are so good. Loaded fries is also a good dish but that chicken over rice slaps.
