Taconmadre (food Truck) - Houston

They no longer operate the food truck (school bus) and have opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant instead. It's a simple setup with a few tables and a couple of TVs, but the air conditioning works well. The most important part, however, is the food! It's as excellent as ever. I enjoyed the pastor tacos made with flour (harina) tortillas, topped with onions and cilantro—they were delicious! I also had a beef fajita gordita and some charro beans, exactly what I wanted and expected! Prices have increased slightly since my last visit, but honestly, everything has gone up everywhere. It’s worth the drive and worth every penny!

I've been visiting this place occasionally since they operated a taco truck, and now they've relocated to their permanent spot next door, so it's still in the same area. I absolutely love the food here—everything from their tacos to quesadillas to piratas. The staff is also really friendly. However, I didn't give it a full 5-star rating because they've mixed up my to-go orders over the phone on two different occasions. I would recommend either asking them to repeat your order or just going in to place it in person.

These people have truly lost their minds. They've not only raised their prices significantly, but they've also reduced the portion sizes by 50%. The food is good, but it's definitely not worth the high price for such a small amount.

I would of gave it a 1 but I considered how delicious these tacos WHERE BEFORE. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and these last few times the taste has disappointed me. The size and not to mention the price is not worth me driving 45 minutes anymore. Hope they better the recipe of how it was before.?

Always good to go after a night of drinking to sober up tacos are the best on the southeast part of town ?
