Tau Bay - Houston

I used to enjoy this restaurant, but now it’s frustrating. Their menu doesn't reflect the correct prices. I understand that inflation affects everyone, but it's difficult to know what to expect when ordering with an outdated menu.

The chicken was spoiled, the menu prices are outdated, and the overall atmosphere of the place felt dirty and of low quality.

The experience was just okay, but the customer service left much to be desired. I placed an order through DoorDash, and it took them about 15 to 20 minutes to confirm it. When I called to inquire, a gentleman who had trouble speaking English said he would get his daughter. However, he then just hung up on me. When I called back, I spoke to his daughter, who informed me that they were no longer taking orders but would still process mine as a final order. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I ordered shrimp fresh spring rolls as advertised on DoorDash, but instead received grilled pork. I could only manage a few bites before I had to stop eating, as I felt like I might be sick.

I have just had a delivery order from Tau Bay restaurant. The food is quickly sent to me just as the app estimated. However, there is a cockroach in the meat, as shown in the pics.Fortunately, it is dead and lied near the top of the chunks so I could see it timely. I called to the restaurant to complain and Diana, the daughter of the owners, who quickly apologized and issued a refund.I appreciate her act but I guess I still owe the public to report what I experienced and restaurant owners to be more serious with food handling/storage or they will lose the business while unintentionally hurting customers. (I hope that I won't get any food poisoning as I already tried to taste the broth prior to the discovery)

I left a 10 percent tip for a pick up and they charged an extra $5 dollars to my card for extra tip. Will not pay with card anymore.
