The Rustic - Houston

Had a really great time here overall. I went twice on my vacation and had great food both days. Wednesday late afternoon we were there for happy hour and had Tony and Alex at the bar and got AMAZING service. Thursday early afternoon we sat at the bar again and got mediocre service from 2 women bartenders. It felt like they were unfocused. We had to ask for menus... ask for water. And when we left they forgot to return my credit card and I had to double back for it. Ugh.

Greatest frozen drink happy hour! Stop there for drinks and appetizers before the Astros game, highly recommend! Alex k and Nate treated us like rock stars, make sure to go see them. We came all the way from Cocoa Beach Florida and we'll definitely be back!!

Beautiful placeWe went on a Friday night which was pretty busy. The band was extremely loud and off putting.The menus choices are expensive and not that great. The drink of choice was really strong and not balanced with flavor.The food came out Luke warm at best which was really off and it came out fast as if they didn’t cook it fresh.Flavors weren’t bad though. I’m sure if it was fresh and hot it would’ve been great.

We were in downtown Houston for an event and had to figure out our food options. We heard and read a lot of good things about The Rustic. The food was great as was our server. The restaurant was extra busy due to the huge number of people in town (world robotics championship) an as a chef, i know and understand this circumstance. If we ever get back to Houston, we'll be back.Sincerely.

Pineapple smoke, a Tequila based cocktail, is a great choice to begin your night.
