We were 2 nights in the huanchaco hostel, which is located across the plaza. beautiful local atmosphere. good eating. we had pizza and salat and red wine (malbec from Argentine we came back today and had salat, suppe and pisco sour. great restaurant with. good view of the plaza. the staff is very helpful and friendly!
Easy to eat, poor and expensive. they note that the place does not come good ursache u and see no one inside. a house that really overprices a bark and kartoffel for S./40,00. when I asked the total price, it was not the same of the menu price. the. manager is a thief! not in this place ger. the seat arent confortable at all. the table is too high. pay for suffering. with less money you can eat better in the Peruvian restaurant and kewitschery on the beach.
This little, somewhat hidden restaurant is one of my favorites in Huanchaco. Maybe one of the best experiences we had in Peru. It has a mystique that takes you to another time and mood. The setting is subtle with great black and white pictures and...many archaeological artifacts. Although the food is not representative of the region, it is a good alternative. Anything they serve is good, may be is the decoration or the music (the records selection is great), it's great for intimacy, love to go there with my wife and enjoy a bottle of wine. Any change or improvement would be a bad idea. I hope it stays like so, subdued, intimate… magical.
Probably the most expensive restaurant in Huanchaco and I decided to try it out for my last dinner here. I wanted fish - but they didn't have any (this is the day before the Independence Day weekend so plenty of tourists already in town!), so I opted for the Steak with 3 cheese sauce, and potato purée. I was asked how I wanted my steak so chose "medium", but when it came it was decidedly well done round the edges. It was also possibly the toughest steak I have ever eaten, and was a real jaw exerciser! The three cheese sauce was supposed to be Gorgonzola, Edam and Parmesan, but was a very runny sauce, with grated Parmesan on top, and the meal was accompanied with mashed potato - no vegetables or anything else! The only redeeming feature is that the restaurant is located in a very quiet spot, and the décor is nice, but with the meal costing over double what you would pay in other eateries in Huanchaco, not an experience I would want to repeat.
