We were really excited to have a nice and elevated meal after months of being cooped up eating Deliveroo meals. The ambiance was really nice, and the food was presented beautifully, but I personally believe they could have done better with the vegan tasting menu. Looking at the plates of the three other people I dined with, their meals looked more creative and inventive (I was the only person with the vegan menu . Some of my dishes received were creative and tasty, but there were quite a few that felt lazy or uninventive. I probably would not return given the price/value. The meat eaters in my group were not excited about their food either. Hopefully this was just an off night for them. (See photos I posted. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-03
This would have five stars if Happy Cow allowed it. London has long been missing the mark on vegan fine dining, and it's wonderful to find people willing to meet the challenge. The only other chefs who have impressed me with their ability to work with vegetables in such a way are Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, of Vedge fame. I was fortunate enough to attend an informal event there where I chatted with the chef (who is vegan across the counter from the open kitchen. His excitement about vegan food and his creativity in the kitchen is inspired (and inspiring! . Flat Three are big on fermenting, with reinforced shelving units holding myriad jars and containers of everything from kombucha and kimchi to homemade miso and other fermented beans (it's worth a visit just to browse these shelves . The menu changes frequently, even daily, based on what is in season and what chef Pavel Kanja fancies. The sommelier (also vegan is also brilliant, as is her wine list (which is sake, Riesling, and Pinot Noir focussed – heavenly grapes . These guys are so enthusiastic about food and engaged with their craft that they don't seem to have space for the arrogance often associated with fine dining restaurants. There is no air of pretension at Flat Three. None. How refreshing to dine at a place where people can and will talk with you in detail about what you're eating and drinking! I can't wait to go back.
A few months ago, we had dinner at Flat Three and it was superb. The vegan tasting menu is always part of the menu. And it is inventive, delicious, beautifully prepared and warmly yet professionally presented. They have a beautiful wine list, very knowledgeable sommelier, gorgeous sake and charming non alcoholic cocktails (yas! . Everything about the evening was tops. Fine vegan dining in London swanky and relaxed. The decor is beautiful too Japanese Korean Scandi (like their food inspiration . Here's a run down of the courses: amuse bouche of potato fritter with a yuzu and mustard sauce fermented cabbage French onion dashi salt baked beets, preserved yuzu shichimi Jerusalem artichokes, crosnes, barley dew plant smoked sand carrot, miso Cornish seaweed king cabbage, gochujang linseed noodles (possibly my favourite dish carrot sorbet, rhubarb, olive oil bergamot tofu sorbet pomegranate roasted marshmallow petit four
Excelentes antigüedades, pero desde que se mudaron, no puedo encontrar sus nuevos locales.
Buena atención, servicio rápido y buen gusto. Muy recomendable.
